Ms Yang's appeal letter

Dear Brother Paul
I would like to speak for Wan Li regarding her appeal for a supplementary paper. Among her classmates, she has been one of the few students who are consistent in their work from the start to the end, never giving up the race. In class, she is always attentive, taking down notes diligently and participating in class discussion actively. She placed much effort in every asignment given. Wan Li is also a student who actively consults her teacher whenever in doubt. During her promotional period, she has also approached me for counsultation with a few of her classmates to go through a number of problem questions they faced during their revision for the Mathematics Promotional Examination.

Her efforts have resulted in an improvement in her grades, however, still missing the criteria for repeat students to be promoted. Yet she is still unwilling to give up the race. As her teacher, I commend her for her perseverance and the importance of studies in her life. However, I had to make sure Wan Li is aware that her 2 years of effort not resulting in desirable results could indicate that perhaps she is more suitable for another course instead. I had a talk with her and she has expressed that she is aware of that. This appeal for a supplementary paper is her final run and she can move on without any regrets should she not pass the supplementary papaer and is asked to withdraw.

However, judging from here consistency in work and commendable attitude in her studies, I am sure that given time, she is able to prove herself capable of performing well in the 'A' levels.

I understand that this period of time has been tough for the college, be it staff or students, and I sincerely thank you for you kind attention in attending to Wan Li's appeal.

God bless the college.
